What is the english word for Rifath/Rafath which happens to be an Arabic name?
There are 4 names to consider:

Ra'fat means compassion, gentleness etc.

Raf'at means elevation, promotion, magnificence

Rifaa'at means authority, elevation, high rank

Rif'at means dignity, nobility, eminence, height, altitude.

Reply:You are right, it means heights. In Urdu it is written as Riffat as there is "Tashdeed" (Repeatness), on "F" "Fay" but you mentioned h after t, it is not written in arabic although, Arabs pronounced "t" as it looks the voice of "th". If it is written Rifath it will not do the purpose as it sound " hay" after "Tay"(in urdu). For example "Bath",( Nahanan(urdu), Hath (hand in english). In my opinion Riffat is the correct name.
