In Arabic literature, Michael is called Mikha'il.

Reply:It is Mikhail as others have said. Or sometimes Mikhael, Michael or Michel.the latter 3 are usually used by non arabs in the mid east though.





The form Mikhail is also used by some Jews, Aramaic speaking Assyrians,Copts and East European Slavs.





Jews and Assyrians may also use Michael,or also Mikhael, the suffix AEL meaning god.





Michael is a Hebrew name, and is most commonly used in the middle east by NON ARAB peoples such as Jews, Assyrian Christians,Syriacs, Armenians, Maronites etc. Maronites use the term Michel.





Outside of Palestinian and Jordanian Christians, few christians in the mid east are Ethnically Arabs anyhow, and it is not that common among Muslims.

but i've met some christian egyption with the name Michael spelled 賲丕賷賰賱 with the english pronounciation even if they didn't speak any english and nor did their parents, it's quite a popular name in Egypt
